A complete overhaul of your Djembe. This
service includes everything needed to bring
your drum up to top performance, a complete
tear-down and re-build: new head, new rope,
oil for the shell (inside and out) & bearing
edge work (as needed). Aproximately five day
turnaround on most drums.
"Wassolon" was Mamady Keita's first album.
Since the release of that album Mamady has
dreamed of making an all new recording of
these rhythms, one that would be
performed by a group of young musicians
(and a few old friends) with whom he could
place all his trust. "Sila Laka" is the
realization of that dream. Sila laka means
'Open Road' or 'Open the Way' in Malinké. As
a bonus, Mamady has added a recording of
the rhythm Abondan to the original eleven
rhythms that made up Wassolon.
